Granites are not a homogenous rock and its composition different depending on its place. Other less common gears give Granites a broad difference in look and color. Granites forms from the melting of lighter materials than is found in the deep crust or mantle. Granites derived from melted basalt may be more affluent in plagioclase feldspar.
