In the Summarize Written Text section, two points will be given for correct grammatical response; in the Summarize Spoken Text section, two points will be awarded for correct grammatical answers. The grammar section of the PTE will award you 1 point for making a few grammatical mistakes (1 or 2), while the grammar section does not award you any points. For the PTE Summarize Written Text, vocabulary section, two points are awarded for using appropriate words. A word is deemed appropriate if it is relevant to the speech and academically relevant. If you use less appropriate words, you get one point, and if you use no appropriate words, you get zero. As for spelling, 1 mistake will cost you 1 point; more than 1 mistake will get you 0 points; the only way to get 2 points is to avoid making mistakes.
In total, if you satisfy every marking criterion set by the PTE, you can get 10 points. However, you cannot receive zero points if you write irrelevant content that has nothing to do with the audio recording. Also, do not type everything in capital letters and use appropriate punctuation.
